People who book on the internet and encounter a problem have to look after themselves whereas if you book through a travel agent you have someone else to call on for assistance. Have you been told at an airport that your flight has been cancelled? Passengers are told to queue at a ticket desk, a queue of perhaps 200 people. You may have noticed that some reach for their mobile and call their business travel agent. The agent makes the best possible alternative reservation and the passenger then leaves the queue. Those remaining in the queue would be left with less desirable options when they eventually get to the desk.
